A male Pakistani politician has drawn jeers for propose a group to stop the "mental torture" of men by women.Jam Tamachi Unar optional the idea Thursday, after the assembly in Sindh region resolved to create a panel to look into the torment of women in the country's rural areas.
The tender drew shouts of "Shame!" from female get-together members. Most of the women stormed out of the meeting, while several of the men laughed. Unar tell The allied Press that he was only joking but that it's a "vinegary truth that the same way women are tortured in rural areas, men are the victims of cerebral torment in urban neighborhood."
Violence against women is common in Pakistan, partly thanks to patriarchal attitudes and lax law enforcement.
