Illinois' highest courtyard place Rahm Emanuel back in the race for Chicago mayor Thursday, three days after an inferior court threw the former White House chief of staff off the vote as he had not lived in the city for a full year.
The state Supreme Court ruled commonly in Emanuel's favor, with a greater part of justices finishing that the earlier judgment was "without any establishment" in the law because it said a entrant must be actually present in Chicago.
"As I said from the start, I think the voters be worthy of the right to make the choice of who should be mayor," Emanuel said soon after getting word of the high court's action. "I'm reassured for the city. I'm reassured for the voters for the reason that they need the certainty that's significant for them."
